Detroit Become Human fanzine artwork!

I'm working on several zine submissions for the This is Our Story, Detroit Become Human fanzine. I'm doing an illustration, and merch like keychains and buttons. Here's some of the in-process work for it!

For the illustration i came up with 2 different ideas. I also wanted to utilize the language of flowers with this too, so they're included in both ideas.

I ended up going with the 2nd one, it's not finished yet but i'll post the finalized version when it's done! I might eventually do the 1st one too as I really like the concept. the 1st one was about the dichotomy of player choice and how you can shape Connor as a cold machine or an emotional individual depending on your choices. the 2nd one is about the emotional journey of becoming self aware and Connor embracing his individualism and life separate from Cyberlife.

For the keychains I also had 2 different ideas, a chibi version and a more realistic version. These are going to be rubber keychains as well and it's the first time I've done merchandise in rubber.

While I like the realistic ones, the chibi ones were the obvious choice.

I actually finished these, so here they are in their final state:
working on these was really similar to working on enamel pins. I'm both excited and nervous to see how these turn out in the final. I had to work with a limited color palette so while I would have liked to use more colors, everyone is limited. It made me think about the coloring process differently too.

I'm also doing a set of buttons, one of Marcus and one of Carl, so they'll be a matching set. I'll post those when they're done too.

anyway, I hope you like this little preview. The zine website is here:

and they'll be posting news on how to acquire the zine once it's done. I'll be posting stuff online about it as well so you don't miss out!

Too Kawaii to Die #5. THE END.

All good things must come to an end, and Too Kawaii To Die, the subversive cute/gross/horror anime zine ends with #5. It's been great to be a part of this bizarre project and work with a dear friend as he cast this wonderfully horrifying vision into the world. Just like every other issue before it, Too Kawaii to Die #5 is free to download, just be warned there is NSFW content. I submitted 2 illustrations to this zine, they're posted below.

I suggest checking out my previous posts about the other 4 issues!

Too Kawaii To Die #1
Too Kawaii To Die #2
Too Kawaii To Die #3
Too Kawaii To Die #4

Looking forward to what Zach does next! These zines were a great excuse to draw whatever the heck I wanted, hoping I'll have a chance to do something like this again!

Too Kawaii To Die Volume 4 is out!

I have had the privilege of being a part of the 'Too Kawaii To Die' zine since volume 1, and now volume 4 is out! It's full of comics and illustrations that both celebrate and subvert cute anime stereotypes and Japanese culture which often results in terrifying, sad or grotesque monstrosities, but in a good way.

The tumblr post for volume 4 has all the download links you'll need! HERE! It's not available for print yet, but if it is in the future I'll be sure to keep you all in the loop!

Below is 2 out of the 5 illustrations I did for the zine.

Too Kawaii to Die issue #4

My comic bro Zach has been putting out a subversively bizarre anime zine called 'Too Kawaii To Die' and I've been lucky to be a part of it since the first issue.
If you wanna find out more about it and look up past issues then check out the official tumblr HERE.

Submissions for issue 4 are almost up, so I wanted to show a preview of my contribution this time around.

If you're looking through the old issues and it's your first introduction to this zine then be warned that there's NSFW material in it, so proceed at your own risk.

TANKADERE Anthology - now you can BUY IT!

I recently contributed to an anthology called TANAKDERE Vol 3, it's all about Daring Dames, so if you like female protagonists you should definitely go check it out! I have a 7pg story called SPROUT that is along the lines of Transpose Operator, but actually not because it's far more hopeful than Transpose Operator... basically I am telling you to GO BUY IT because it is a cool anthology with a ton of awesome contributors, including Alicia Muhm, my MCAD compatriot, and fellow Periscope intern bro Matt Rainwater.

Here is the cover again!

And here's a 3 page preview of my story - SPROUT!

GO BUY THE BOOK to see the conclusion and support me and all the other fine artists in this book!

PANACEA cover and 8 page preview!

I worked on a short story for a competition and finally got around to doing the cover after I finished the story and submitted it. It was fun to revisit these characters who I hadn't seen in awhile. The cover preview is below!

There's sketches on a post from awhile ago if you're interested, you should definitely check it out.

I know I did a post with the first 4 pages as a preview, I tweaked the pages a little since then, and I wanted to give you a slightly longer preview, so here's the first 8 pages!

I want to post the whole thing online! ...but I'm not sure how to go about it yet. In the meantime I hope you enjoyed the preview! Find out what happens to Kanna in the full version of PANACEA!

Too Kawaii To Die #3!

I did three illustrations for the recently released crazy animu zine, 'TOO KAWAII TO DIE #3' Just like the last 2 there's plenty of insane grotesqueness and humor, along with some cute and not so cute comics.

So far it's only available for download but a print version will be coming out soon. Just be forewarned that some of the content is NSFW.

Check out the Tumblr news post here

Below is one of the 3 illustrations I did for the book
