Grimoire Character Sketches

There's a few new faces here, and a mixture of older and newer sketches.
I've been doing a lot of writing on this lately and it's super fun... but also time consuming. I'm looking forward to getting everything in working order soon!

In other news, I was previously living in Portland for most of the year and have recently moved back to Alaska for a few months. Here's my old/new work space!

Transpose Operator guest art - Zach B and Ron Randall

Last week it was Zach B of 'Bitch I'm an Anime' and the zine 'Too Kawaii to die' gives us a hilarious comic, and Ron Randall of 'Trekker' and 'Super Girl' did an amazing cover art-esque illustration. Check out their amazing artwork! They're super cool people as well as talented artists!

Grimoire - Gestalt Monster Designs

These are some early designs for Gestalt's 'Monster' look, along with some other human designs. he pretty much looks like THIS now, in case you missed this post earlier in the year. There was ANOTHER ONE from over a year ago too if you missed it.
There's a lot of reasons for his final design, as you can probably tell, being able to wield way too many swords at once was one of them. 6 arms are better than 2, right?

Bathisphere

I was working on a story in college about a girl who is able to see another world above our own... since she's seen it for years and is the only one who can, naturally she thinks she's crazy. The story ended up involving a lot of Arabic design elements and Norse Mythology and mythological characters. I really like the concept and the characters but it's seriously rough. I plan to do something with it some day.
wow, so anime with all these sailor uniforms, haha...

All the girls have been friends since middle school and they really support each other. When things in their world start going crazy the main character's friends are able to deal with the fallout a little easier than most since they've believed her for years. The kid who is the odd one out in all of these sketches is from the 'other world' that the main character sees, and his involvement turns her world upside-down.

Since they're cute high school girls it gives me an excuse to dress them in cute clothes. However the main character's hair always looks like a mess, haha, no matter what she wears she tends to look like a bag lady. The personalities of these three is a lot of fun to write, they play really well off of each-other  I really hope to revisit this story sometime soon.

Grimoire sketches - Gestalt

WOW some of these are super old, like from before I knew the direction of the story. These are mostly from when I was thinking out Gestalt's human designs. It's always fun to see these really early sketches and compare them to what the current stuff looks like.

Grimoire Winter clothes

I designed several set of both winter and summer clothes for these guys, and these are my favorites so far.
It's a lot of fun to design their outfits around their personalities and preferences  for instance:
-Mia is all for substance over style so she has to be able to move around easily in anything she wears.
-Gestalt is refined and mature looking no matter what the weather is, he always want's to leave the best impression possible.
-Cali is cute and style aware, she tends to put a lot more thought into what she wears than people think.
-Riley is brand concious but lazy, luckily for him he has a bunch of sisters who tell him if he's looking unfashionable... most of the time.

I'm looking forward to being able to show you more of these, as well as outfits for the other characters, I'll be able to get most of them done this month if all goes well!
